Carpets from the Kurd city Sanandaj (a.k.a. Sennen) in the west part of Iran. The wool used is of high quality, but slightly coarse, the pile is cut short and the carpet is very densed knotted. One can often find herati- and Mir-I-Botha-patterns in the patterned cemtre medallion, sometimes with a geometrical medallion. The carpets are dominated by red and dark blue colours. The craftsmen are using one strand in the woof and because of that the carpets gets a typical dotted backside. In this area are also the Senneh kilims wowen, which considered to be the best of all kilims.
